Hi! 🙂 My name is Jay’e Jones and I am an artist, as well as the owner of Strata Tattoo Lab LLC.  My tattoo journey began in Joshua Tree California in October of 2001. I apprenticed under Ricky Reyes, who was a magnificent mentor and a kind soul. Ricky decided to retire after my apprenticeship, so I spent a few years finding my bearings, and working at various tattoo studios until I could find one to call home. In 2004, after working at several tattoo studios in town, I tried my luck at Strata Tattoo Lab. It had only been open for a few months, and I felt it was a place that I could really grow as an artist.  In 2008, I had the opportunity to buy out the previous owner- I was 25 years old and scared to death. It’s been a wild ride, and a few locations later…we’re still here and kicking ass!

I have definitely been lucky enough to come from a long line of incredibly talented artists in my family, from musicians to fine artists of many mediums. They have inspired me to create throughout my lifetime. I enjoy several mediums of art, but tattooing (of course,) is my absolute favorite! I specifically specialize in large-scale illustrative color and strive to make each customer’s experience a wonderful one.
